Unbeaten run and at 13 games for blues

A goal mid way through the second half, the first conceded since the opening day at Gorsey Lane, settled a game which seemed to have 0-0 written all over and ended Warrington Rylands unbeaten run at 13.

The decisive moment came as a result of a defensive mix up in the 69th minute, following a collision between Tom Pratt and Rylands goalkeeper Luke Pilling the ball fell to Gabriel Johnson on the edge of the area, the Guiseley man chipped the ball into an empty net.

Pilling had denied Johnson in the 28th minute saving his shot from distance and pulled off a good save on the stroke of half time to turn away a powerful Jordi Nsaka shot.

At the other end Guiseley goalkeeper Ollie Battersby tipped a Mo Touray shot from distance over the bar In the 28th minute and blocked well with his feet to keep out a Ben Hardcastle shot on the hour mark.

On a wet afternoon both goalkeepers were reliant on team mates to clear off the line.

In the 31st minute a Jameel Ible cross was deflected over Pilling’s head but Clive Smith got in behind his keeper to head clear from underneath his own bar, and in the 51st minute Joe Piggott poked the ball past Battersby only for covering defender Tom Pratt to clear.

James Neild and Adama Sidibeh both shot just off target in the first half, while Pratt’s 57th minute shot was deflected wide, from the resultant corner Aiden Walker headed wide as did Liam Tongue in the 81st minute.
